ORDINANCE NO. 669

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE AIRPORT

WHEREAS, in order that the War Service Training Program may be continued and expanded, it is necessary that further improvements be made at the Municipal Airport (Walker Field).

WHEREAS, the necessity for the improvements at this time is an unforeseen contingency arising after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of unexpended receipts from Walker Field in the General Fund, the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500.00) Dollars, and from unexpended funds in the Special Contingent Emergency Fund of the General Fund, the sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars, all to the Airport Fund.

By reason of the fact that the proposed improvements to be made at Walker Field are necessary at this time so that the War Service Training Program may continue and progress, a special emergency exists. Therefore, the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and it shall take effect upon its passage.

Passed and adopted this 6th day of October, A. D. 1943.
