ORDINANCE NO. 676

 

 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF EIGHTH STREET.

 

 WHEREAS, The Sebastiani Canning Company has petitioned the City Council to vacate that portion of Eighth Street lying between Lots numbered 1 to 4 inclusive, in Block 11, and Lots numbered 1 to 4 inclusive in Block 12 of Milldale Subdivision in the City of Grand Junction;

 

 AND WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the said street is a blind street which has no opening on the north; that the portion sought to be vacated is at the north end of this blind street; that the petitioner is the owner of all of the land on three sides of and adjacent to the part of said street which is sought to be vacated; and that the vacation of this portion of the said street will not cause any injury to the public or interference with public travel upon the other streets and alleys of the City, and that the said vacation would be to the best interest of the public convenience and necessity:

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

 Section 1. That that portion of Eighth Street lying between Lots numbered 1 to 4 inclusive, in Block 11, and Lots numbered 1 to 4 inclusive in Block 12 of Milldale Subdivision in the City of Grand Junction, be and the same is hereby vacated.

 

 Passed and adopted this 15th day of November, A. D. 1944.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 676 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 1st day of November, A. D. 1944; and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said city at least ten days before its final passage.
