ORDINANCE NO. 707

 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS

 WHEREAS, Since the 1946 budget was passed and adopted, additional expenses have been caused by the necessity of increasing personnel in nearly all departments; increase in the cost of materials; additional costs for new equipment and repairing old equipment; increase in publication fees; cost of constructing additional buildings; and increase in the cost of labor and necessary salary increases, which expenses were unforeseen and arose after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance:

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the General Funds of the City, the following amounts:

 A. To the Engineering Department the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars.

 B. To the Building Department, the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars.

 C. To the Airport Division, the amount of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00) Dollars.

 D. To the Health Department, the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars.

 E. To the Highway Department, the sum of Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars.

 F. To the Police Department the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) Dollars.

 G. To the General Office Department, the sum of Two Thousand Four Hundred ($2,400.00) Dollars.

 H. To the Force Account Division, the sum of Twenty-five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars.

 Section 2. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended receipts from rental of equipment to the Equipment Department, the sum of Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars.

 Section 3. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended receipts from Moyer Pool to the Moyer Pool Fund the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty ($750.00) Dollars.

 Section 4. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended receipts from sewer rental and unexpended balance in that fund to the Sewer Department, the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500.00) Dollars.

 Section 5. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended balance in the Water Funds of the City of Grand Junction to the Water Department, the sum of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars.

 Passed and adopted this 21st day of August, 1946.

D. 1946, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said city at least ten days before its final passage.
