ORDINANCE NO. 718
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS
WHEREAS, Since the 1946 budget was passed and adopted additional expenses have been caused by the necessity of increasing personnel in nearly all departments; increase in the cost of materials; additional costs for new equipment and repairing old equipment; increase in the cost of labor and additional help in the Library, which expenses were unforeseen and arose after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the General Funds of the City, the following amounts;
A. To the Engineering Department the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars.
B. To the Building Department, the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars.
C. To the Fire Department, the sum of Three Hundred Fifty ($350.00) Dollars.
D. To the Park Department, the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000) Dollars.
E. To the Highway Department, the sum of Eight Thousand ($8,000) Dollars.
F. To the Police Department, the sum of Four Thousand Five Hundred ($4,500.00) Dollars.
Section 2. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended receipts in the Library Fund to the Library Department the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars.
Section 3. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unexpended receipts from sewer rental and unexpended balance in that fund to the Sewer Department, the sum of Seven Hundred ($700.00) Dollars.
By reason of the fact that it is necessary to provide funds to carry on the work of the various departments for the balance of the year, a special emergency exists. Therefore, the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, it shall take effect upon its passage.
Passed and adopted this 4th day of December, A. D. 1946.
