ORDINANCE NO. 719

 

 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF SOUTH EIGHTH STREET.

 

 WHEREAS, that portion of South Eighth Street lying between the South line of First Avenue and the right of way of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Company has never been open to public travel;

 

 AND WHEREAS, there is no crossing across the railroad tracks at this point and the City of Grand Junction does not desire to open this said portion of South Eighth Street to travel by the public;

 

 AND, WHEREAS, the vacation of this portion of South Eighth Street will not cause any injury to the public, and the use of the said real estate for industrial purposes will be of benefit to the public.

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

 Section 1. That all that portion of South Eighth Street lying between the South line of First Avenue and the right of way of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad Company shall be and the same is hereby vacated.

 

 Passed and adopted this 4th day of December, 1946.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 719, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 20th day of November, A. D. 1946, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
