ORDINANCE NO. 743

 

 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30 (b) OF ORDINANCE NO. 529 CONCERNING TRAFFIC AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That Section 30 (b) of Ordinance No. 529 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

 Section 30. Rules for standing or parking.

 

 (b). Diagonal parking: On Main Street between the right of way of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway Company and Eighth Street; on Colorado Avenue between Second and Seventh Streets; on Second Street between Colorado and Rood Avenues; on Fourth Street between Ute and Colorado Avenues; on Seventh Street between Colorado and White Avenues; and on such other streets as the City Manager may designate and mark for such purposes, all vehicles shall be parked at an angle of forty-five degrees to the curb, with the right front wheel touching the curb, and where diagonal parking spaces are marked upon the pavement, all vehicles shall be parked in the center thereof.

 

 If the parking meters provided by Ordinance No. 742 are not installed by the time this ordinance is in effect, enforcement of this section is hereby suspended until completion of the installation of meters as provided in said ordinance.

 

 Section 2. In order to more properly regulate the traffic situation in the City of Grand Junction a special emergency exists. Therefore the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace and safety and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 743, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30 (b) OF ORDINANCE NO. 529 CONCERNING TRAFFIC AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY," was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 20th day of February, A. D. 1947, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said city at least ten days before its final passage.
