ORDINANCE NO. 744

 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAMES OF CERTAIN STREETS.

 WHEREAS because of recent additions of platted territory to the City of Grand Junction there now exist different streets with the same name, extensions of the same streets bearing different names, and streets and avenues which do not conform to the general city street plan; and

 WHEREAS other names of streets which differ from the official names have been established by long usage; and

 WHEREAS it is necessary for the fire and police protection of the people of the City of Grand Junction that the names of these streets be changed;

 NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 1. That College Avenue in DeVoe Subdivision be changed to Glenwood Avenue;

 2. That Cherry Avenue in Henderson Subdivision be changed to Bunting Avenue;

 3. That Henderson Avenue in Henderson Subdivision be changed to Kennedy Avenue;

 4. That Park Drive in Elmwood Plaza Subdivision be changed to Eighteenth Street;

 5. That Vale Avenue in Elmwood Plaza Subdivision be changed to Hall Avenue;

 6. That King Avenue in Wilcox and Bixby Subdivision be changed to Texas Avenue;

 7. That Joyce Avenue in Wilcox and Bixby Subdivision be changed to Mesa Avenue;

 8. That Crawford Avenue in Benton Canon Subdivision and Milldale Subdivision be changed to Fourth Avenue;

 9. That the present Fourth Avenue in Milldale Subdivision be changed to Winters Avenue;

 10. That Boyles Avenue in Grandview Subdivision be changed to Fifteenth Street;

 11. That Twenty-first Street in Wilcox and Bixby Subdivision be changed to Twenty-third Street;

 12. That Rothsay Avenue in Crawford Subdivision be changed to Rockaway Avenue;

 13. That Bunting Street in Gormley-McMullin Subdivision be changed to Bunting Avenue;

 14. That Riverview Avenue in Crawford Subdivision be changed to Fairview Avenue.

 Passed and adopted this 19th day of March, A. D. 1947.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance being Ordinance No. 744 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 19th day of March, A. D. 1947, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said city at least 10 days before its final passage.
