ORDINANCE NO. 745

 

 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ARTICLE XII OF ORDINANCE NO. 83 CONCERNING MISDEMEANORS.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 SECTION 1: That Section 1 of Article XII of Ordinance No. 83 be and it is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

 ARTICLE XII. Section 1. DISTURBANCE OF PEACE AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT FORBIDDEN. No person shall disturb the peace and quiet of others by violence or tumultuous carriage or conduct, nor by loud and unusual noises, nor by unseemly, profane, obscene language calculated to provoke breach of the peace, nor by quarreling, challenging to fight, fighting, or assaulting another, nor shall any person use profane or obscene language in any public street or place where the same may be heard by others. No person shall disturb the peace and quiet of others by molesting them upon the streets or in other public places, by following them on foot or in a vehicle, or by soliciting pedestrians to take rides in automobiles.

 

 SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Council a special emergency exists and this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and it shall take effect upon passage.
