ORDINANCE NO. 749 a.
AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF SIXTH STREET
WHEREAS that portion of Sixth Street lying South of Crawford Avenue has formerly been thirty (30) feet in width; and
WHEREAS the increased use of the surrounding territory for industrial purposes has made necessary the vacation of a portion of said South Sixth Street and the conversion of the remaining portion of said street from a street to an alley; and
WHEREAS in the platting and subdivision of the tract known as the South Fifth Street Subdivision the said alley has been shown to be seventeen feet in width; and the vacation of a portion of the said street will not cause any injury to the public and that it would be to the best interests of the City of Grand Junction and citizens thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That the West thirteen (13) feet of South Sixth Street, commencing at the North side of Crawford Avenue and extending South a distance of approximately 528 feet, to the South end of said street shall be and the same is hereby vacated; and that the fee title to the portion of the said street so vacated shall be deemed and taken to vest in the owner of the property abutting the said street on the West.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 749 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 7th day of May, A. D. 1947, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
