ORDINANCE NO. 751
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL APPROPRIATION TO THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Since the 1947 budget was passed and adopted, money has been expended from the Highway appropriations for the purchase of several large and expensive pieces of equipment which became available at this time, the purchase of which was not contemplated at the time of the passage of this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Manager to construct a new storm sewer to service the Veteran's Hospital, which construction cost has been paid from the Highway Department;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the unappropriated funds in the General Fund to the Highway Department, the sum of Thirty Thousand ($30,000.00) Dollars;
By reason of the fact that it is necessary for the Highway Department to continue in operation, a special emergency exists. Therefore, the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect upon its passage.
Passed and adopted this 21st day of July A. D. 1947.
