ORDINANCE NO. 767

 

 AN ORDINANCE VACATING ALL STREETS AND ALLEYS WITHIN THAT PORTION OF CARPENTER'S SUBDIVISION NO. 2, IN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, LYING SOUTH AND EAST OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE GRAND AVENUE VIADUCT, NORTH AND EAST OF THE COUNTY ROAD. ALSO KNOWN AS CROSBY AVENUE, AND NORTH AND WEST OF THE LITTLE BOOKCLIFF RAILROAD YARDS.

 

 WHEREAS the Biggs-Kurtz Investment Company has petitioned the City Council to vacate the streets and alleys which are hereinafter described.

 

 AND WHEREAS the City Council finds that the said Biggs-Kurtz Investment Company is the owner of all of the property surrounding the streets and alleys which are petitioned to be vacated; that the vacation of the said streets and alleys will not cause any injury to the public or interfere with public travel upon the other streets and alleys of the city; and that the said vacation will be to the best interest of the public convenience and necessity.

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That all streets and alleys in that portion of Carpenter's Subdivision No. 2, in the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, lying South and East of the right-of-way of the Grand Avenue viaduct, North and East of the East line of the County Road which is also known as Crosby Avenue, and North and West of the Little Bookcliff Railroad Yards shall be and the same are hereby vacated.

 

 Passed and adopted this 7th day of April, A. D. 1948.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 767 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 17th day of March, A. D. 1948, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said city at least ten days before its final passage.
