ORDINANCE NO. 819

 

 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE NO. 238, AS AMENDED, CONCERNING EXPRESS LICENSES.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO;

 

 Section 1. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 238, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:

 

 Section 9. Express Licenses. For each bus, express wagon, transfer wagon, truck or other vehicle used and kept for carrying articles of any description within this City, $25.00 per annum, provided that the owner of each such licensed vehicle shall have fixed to the said vehicle, the number of the same in plain and conspicuous figures not less than 1 1/2 inches in length which number shall be assigned to such vehicle by the City Clerk at the time of issuing license therefor. No such vehicle shall be deemed licensed under this ordinance unless the same shall have attached thereto the number as herein provided. This section shall not apply to vehicles used and run exclusively by hotel keepers conveying passengers, goods and baggage to and from hotels free of charge, nor to merchants and retail dealers delivering their own merchandise free of charge with their own vehicles which are used exclusively for that purpose, nor to vehicles used for transporting building materials within the City.

 

 Any taxicab company which has the necessary licenses required under Ordinance No. 781 of this City, shall be entitled to carry and deliver goods, wares and merchandise in its taxicabs which are used to transport persons for hire upon the payment of one license fee as set forth hereinabove.
