ORDINANCE NO. 848

 

 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION FOR STREET WIDENING.

 

 WHEREAS it is necessary to purchase additional right of way for the widening of North Avenue at and near its intersection with Twelfth Street, and the purchase of such right of way was unforseen at the time of the passage of the annual Appropriation Ordinance:

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the General Funds of the City of Grand Junction to the Highway Fund, the sum of $5,000.00

 

 Section 2. By reason of the fact that the State Highway Department desires to let the contract for the street improvement without delay, the City Council finds and determines that a special emergency exists and that the passage of this Ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and it shall take effect on its passage.

 

 Passed and adopted this 6th day of February, 1952.
