ORDINANCE NO. 854

 

 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING UNMARRIED PERSONS FROM REGISTERING OR ROOMING TOGETHER AS MAN AND WIFE IN ANY HOTEL, ROOMING HOUSE OR OTHER PLACE IN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. No man and woman who are not married to each other shall register or room together as man and wife in any hotel, rooming house or other place in the City of Grand Junction. This offense shall be sufficiently proved by circumstances which raise the presumption of cohabitation and unlawful intimacies.

 

 Section 2. Any person convicted of the above offense shall be fined not less than Ten Dollars nor more than Three Hundred Dollars.

 

 Passed and adopted this 16th day of April, 1952.
