ORDINANCE NO. 856
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REVISION, CODIFICATION, COMPILATION AND PUBLICATION IN BOOK FORM OF ALL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, OF A GENERAL AND PERMANENT NATURE AND ALL ORDINANCES IMPOSING ANY FINE, PENALTY OR FORFEITURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That John C. Banks, attorney at law, shall be and he is hereby authorized to revise, compile, codify, edit and prepare for publication, in chapters according to their subject matter, all ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, of a general or permanent nature, and all ordinances imposing any fine, penalty or forfeiture.
Section 2. In the course of compiling, editing and preparing such ordinances, all duplications and obsolete and redundant words shall be eliminated, and all names of officers and governmental departments shall be changed to conform to the City Manager form of government as it is now in operation under the City Charter, and existing ordinances shall be clarified where necessary to preserve the intent, effect and meaning of any and all such ordinances.
Section 3. The revised and codified ordinances shall be published in printed or mimeographed form, to be known as the "1952 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado", and a notice of the enactment of the codifying ordinance shall be published in the manner required by law and as provided in Chapter 242 of the 1949 Session Laws of Colorado, and after/adoption of the codifying ordinance, the said Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction shall be accepted as prima facie evidence of the original ordinances in all Courts and other places without further proof thereof.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 856, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a special meeting of said body held on the 17th day of April, 1952, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
