ORDINANCE NO. 903
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS FOR THE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION.
WHEREAS, it appears the pension fund for the firemen of the City of Grand Junction, for which provision is made under the present statutes of the State of Colorado, is not now actuarially sound; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to provide for supplemental payments for such fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. There shall be deducted from the compensation paid each member of the Fire Department of the City of Grand Junction not embraced within the provisions of Chapter 18, Sections 8, 9 and 10 of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, 2% of his monthly salary, which amount shall be withheld from his monthly pay. Such deductions shall be paid into and to become a part of the Firemen's Pension Fund for the City of Grand Junction established by law, such payments to be made during the month following the month when such assessments were withheld.
Section 2. Each month the City Treasurer shall pay into and to become a part of the Firemen's Pension Fund for the City of Grand Junction an amount of money equal to the sums so withheld from the salaries of firemen during the preceding month and $1,200.00 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund for such purpose during the year 1955.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 903 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 16th day of February, 1955, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
