ORDINANCE NO. 937

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

 WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on September 7, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners, and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947, to be satisfactorily complied with; and

 WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated September 7, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said Petition has been published once each week for four publications in the Daily Sentinel, the first publication being on September 13, 1955, and the last publication being on October 4, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, thirty days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no Counter-Petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be and it is hereby declared to be annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

Beginning at a point on the North line of Section 11, 1580.5' West of the Northeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Ute Meridian, thence South 637.4 feet, thence South 65o 30' East 725.9 feet, thence North 0o 32' West 937.5 feet to the North line of said Section 11, thence West along said North line of said Section 11, 651.8 feet to point of beginning. Said land being known as Van Deren-Ford Heights.

 PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2nd day of November, 1955.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 937 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 19th day of October, 1955, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
