ORDINANCE NO. 938

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

 WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on August 10, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners, and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947 to be satisfactorily complied with; and

 WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated August 10, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said Petition has been published once each week for four publications in the Daily Sentinel, the first publication being on August 12, 1955, and the last publication being on September 2, 1955; and

 WHEREAS, thirty days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no Counter-Petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be and it is hereby declared to be annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado;

Beginning at a point 300.57 feet West of the Northeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 South, Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian; thence West 362.22 feet, thence South 657.9 feet, thence East 333 feet, thence North 45o 13' East 112.3 feet, thence East 110 feet, thence North 250 feet, thence West 160.57 feet, thence North 328.58 feet to the point of beginning.

 PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1955.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 938 was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 19th day of October, 1955, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
