ORDINANCE NO. 956

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9(a) OF CHAPTER 59 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That Section 9 (a) of Chapter 59 of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, entitled "RABIES," "PROCLAMATION," be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

 Section 9. RABIES.

 

 (a) PROCLAMATION. Whenever, in the opinion of the Director of Public Health, an emergency exists, and the public health and safety of the said City requires that dogs and cats be immunized by inoculation against rabies, the City Manager shall issue a proclamation to that effect.

 

 Section 2. It is hereby declared that a special emergency exists, that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and be published within three days.
