ORDINANCE NO. 979

 

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS

 

 WHEREAS, Since the 1956 Budget was passed and adopted, additional contingent, unforeseen expenses have been incurred by the enlargement of the Fire Department force by the addition of three men, for a 4 month period with additional cost for their uniforms; and

 

 WHEREAS, Since the 1956 Budget was passed and adopted, additional contingent, unforeseen expenses have been incurred through the resignation of City Manager Toyne and the hiring of City Manager Robert Cheever; and

 

 WHEREAS, Since the 1956 Budget was passed and adopted, additional contingent, unforeseen expenses must be incurred to provide off street parking facilities by the City;

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That there be appropriated from the general fund of the City of Grand Junction:

 

 a. To the Fire Department, for the purpose of defraying additional expenses incurred by enlarging the Fire Department force by three additional men plus their uniforms, the sum of $4,000.00.

 

 b. To the City Manager's Budget under the General Government Budget to provide for City Manager Toyne's salary for July, August and September; for providing City Manager Cheever's salary for June; for providing City Manager Cheever's car expense at the rate of $100.00 per month; and for providing City Manager Cheever's balance of salary for 6 months, the sum of $4,180.00;

 

 c. To the Highway Fund, for purchase of additional parking meters and the acquisition of properties to provide off street parking facilities within the City of Grand Junction, the sum of $2,500.00.

 

 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of October, 1956.
