ORDINANCE NO. 1031

AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING UNBUDGETED RECEIPTS TO THE GENERAL FUND FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT ACTIVITY TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 WHEREAS, because of the necessity for providing a supplementary lunch program at the Junior High School, the Recreation Department of the City has incurred a budgetary deficit of $4,500.00; and,

 WHEREAS, such lunch program has provided receipts for the Recreation Department in excess of the receipts anticipated when the budget was prepared and sufficient to defray the budgetary deficit;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 Section 1. That there be, and there hereby is, appropriated from the excess receipts of the Recreation Department the sum of $4,500.00 to the Recreation Department to defray the budgetary deficit of such Department.

 Section 2. It is hereby declared that a special emergency exists; that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; and that this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage.

 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance, entitled, AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING UNBUDGETED RECEIPTS TO THE GENERAL FUND FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT ACTIVITY TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY was introduced, read, passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance, numbered 1031 and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 18th day of December, 1957.
