ORDINANCE NO. 1032

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 47 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, CONCERNING THE RIGHT OF WAY OF VEHICLES APPROACHING OR ENTERING AN INTERSECTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 That Section 1 of Chapter 47 of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as follows:

 

 Section 1. Vehicles Approaching or Entering Intersection.

 

 (a) When two vehicles enter an intersection from different highways at approximately the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right of way to the driver of the vehicle on the right.

 

 (b) The foregoing rules are modified at stop streets and highways and as otherwise stated in this Article.

 

 Section 2. It is hereby declared that a special emergency exists; that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; and that this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage.

 

 Passed and adopted this 15th day of January, 1958.
