ORDINANCE NO. 1046

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION BY ADDING THERETO A SECTION 21 CONCERNING THE LEVYING OF COSTS IN THE MUNICIPAL COURT.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1. That Chapter 42 of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding the following section thereto:

 

 Section 21. In all hearings in the Municipal Court in which the defendant is found guilty of the charge made, there shall be taxed as costs of such Court the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars, which amount shall be collected by the Court in addition to the fine or penalty assessed; and the Court shall have no power to suspend the same irrespective of what dispensation is made as to the fine or other penalty. Nothing herein shall limit the authority of the Traffic Violations Bureau in establishing a schedule of fines under the Traffic Ordinance, which fines may be paid to the Clerk of the Court without a hearing thereon.
