ORDINANCE NO. 1074

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on March 18, 1959; and

WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners, and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947, to be satisfactorily complied with; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated March 18, 1959; and,

WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said Petition has been published once each week for four publications in The Morning Sun, the first publication being on March 23, 1959, and the last publication being on April 13, 1959; and,

WHEREAS, 30 days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no counter-petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

Beginning at a point on the East Line of the Grand Junction City Limits from whence the established city monument at the intersection of Nineteenth Street and Rood Avenue bears North 00o19' West a distance of 60.0 feet; thence North 89o 43' East 630.0 feet along the south right of way line of Rood Avenue to a point which is South 60.0 feet and West 20.0 feet from the established city monument at the intersection of Twenty First Street and Rood Avenue; thence South 00o19' East 189.34 feet to the northerly right of way line of the Colorado State Department of Highways; thence along said right of way South 72o52' West 300.44 feet; thence West 342.4 feet to the East line of the Grand Junction City Limits; thence North 00o19' West 274.74 feet to the place of beginning, all being in Mesa County, Colorado.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1074, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 6th day of May, 1959, and that the same was published in The Morning Sun, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
