ORDINANCE NO. 1075

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on March 18, 1959; and

WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners, and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947, to be satisfactorily complied with; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated March 18, 1959; and,

WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said Petition has been published once each week for four publications in The Morning Sun, the first publication being on March 23, 1959, and the last publication being on April 13, 1959; and,

WHEREAS, 30 days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no counter-petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

The South quarter of the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter, Section 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Ute Principal Meridian, except Mountain View Addition to the City of Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1075, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 6th day of May, 1959, and that the same was published in The Morning Sun, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
