ORDINANCE NO. 1112

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF CHAPTER 28 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION REGULATING THE BURNING OF RUBBISH OR WASTE MATERIAL.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 That Section 3 of Chapter 28 of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as follows:

 

Section 3. BURNING OF RUBBISH. It shall be unlawful for any person to set fire to any rubbish or waste material of any kind upon any street, alley, or lot within Fire Zone 1 of the City, or within fifty (50) feet thereof, as the same is established, or may be established hereafter, except within a furnace or stove or other appliance approved by the City Manager and used for commercial purposes; and it shall be unlawful for any person to set fire to such material within forty (40) feet of any building outside of such Fire Zone 1 except within the receptacles approved by the City Manager. Permitted burning of rubbish or waste material shall be done only between the hours of 6:00 o’clock a. m. and 4:00 o’clock p. m. Rubbish fires lighted prior to 4:00 o’clock p. m. shall be extinguished or caused to be extinguished by the person lighting the same before such hour.
