ORDINANCE NO. 1162

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on June 6, 1962; and

WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners, and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947, to be satisfactorily complied with; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated June 6, 1962; and,

WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said Petition has been published once each week for four publications in the Daily Sentinel, the first publication being on June 11, 1962, and the last publication being on July 2, 1962; and,

WHEREAS, thirty days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no counter-petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

The West 990 feet of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 1 East of the Ute Meridian, the East Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 South, Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian, and the East 169 feet of the West one-half of the East one-half of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 South, Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian, all in Mesa County, Colorado.

Otherwise described as:

Beginning at the Southwest Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 1 East of the Ute Meridian, Mesa County, Colorado, thence East 990 feet, thence North to the North line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, thence West to the Northwest corner of the East 169 feet of the East one-half of the West one-half of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 South, Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian Mesa County, Colorado, thence South to the South line of said East 169 feet of the East one-half of the West one-half of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, thence east to the point of beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1162, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 18th day of July, 1962, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
