ORDINANCE N0. 1176

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

WHEREAS, a Petition to annex the property hereinafter described to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, was filed with the City Clerk and considered by the City Council on April 17, 1963; and

WHEREAS, the said City Council at that time found the said territory to be eligible for annexation, the Petition to be signed by the required number of landowners. and all other requirements of Section 2 of Chapter 314, Session Laws of Colorado, 1947, to be satisfactorily complied with; and

WHEREAS, the City Council did accept and approve the said Petition for annexation by its Resolution dated April 17, 1963; and

WHEREAS, Notice of the filing of said petition has been published once each week for four publications in the Daily Sentinel, the first publication being on May 3, 1963, and the last publication being on May 24, 1963; and

WHEREAS, thirty days have elapsed after the first publication of said Notice and no counter-petition or written objection to the said annexation has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the said annexation is approved and that the following described property shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado;

 Beginning at a point 255 feet South of the Northwest corner of the Northwest Quarter, of the Northeast Quarter, Section 11, Township I South, Range 1 West, Ute Meridian, Mesa County, Colorado, thence East 190.3 feet, thence South 5o 33' West 10 feet, thence North 63o 50' East 10 feet, thence North 15o 12' East 55.8 feet, thence North 79o 59' East 119.8 feet, thence South 2o 55' West 427.5 feet, thence West to the present City limits of the City of Grand Junction, thence Northwesterly and North following the present City limits line of said City to the point of beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being ordinance No. 1176,

was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 5th day of June, 1963, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
