ORDINANCE NO. 1190
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 5.7 AND 6.2, DEFINITIONS OF SERVICE BUSINESS UNLIMITED AND MANUFACTURING UNLIMITED RESPECTIVELY, BOTH A PART OF SECTION 3, ZONE CLASSIFICATIONS, OF CHAPTER 83 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, TO PERMIT TRUCK TERMINALS, AS A USE CATEGORY, TO BE LOCATED IN CERTAIN COMMERCIAL AREAS OF THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That Subsection 5.7 of Chapter 83 Subsection 3 a (5) of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, be amended to read as follows:
Section 3. ZONE CLASSIFICATIONS
a. Use Groups
(5) Commercial Use
5.7 Service Business, unlimited; ellipsis; consists of animal hospitals, kennels, auction houses, frozen food lockers, glass fabrication and installation, commercial laundries, public garages, bus and taxi service building, truck terminal, roofing shops, sign painting, shops, carpet cleaning establishments, and commercial meat processing establishments excluding slaughtering. Commercial meat processing establishments having a total smoke house capacity of over 500 cu. ft. must provide smoke elimination equipment such as stack after-burners or other means of smoke control meeting the approval of the City Building Inspector. (See performance standards in Supplementary Regulations.)
Section 2. That Subsection 6.2 of Chapter 83 Subsections 3 a (6) of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, be amended to read as follows:
Section 3. ZONE CLASSIFICATIONS
a. Use Groups
(6) Industrial Use
6.2 Manufacturing, unlimited . . . consists of automobile, truck, airplane assembly and remodeling, metal works, stone and monument works, concrete products fabrication and freight yard.
Section 3. It is hereby declared that a special emergency exists; that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; and that this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance, entitled AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 5.7 AND 6.2 DEFINITIONS OF SERVICE BUSINESS UNLIMITED AND MANUFACTURING UNLIMITED RESPECTIVELY, BOTH A PART OF SECTION 3, ZONE CLASSIFICATIONS, OF CHAPTER 83 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, TO PERMIT TRUCK TERMINALS, AS A USE CATEGORY, TO BE LOCATED IN CERTAIN COMMERCIAL AREAS OF THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, was introduced, read, passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance, numbered 1190 and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 6th day of May, 1964.
