ORDINANCE NO. 1274
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 31-12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION BY ADDING A SECTION THERETO FOR UNMETERED WATER RATES AND RAISING THE SAME.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:
Section 1. That subsection (e) of Section 31-12 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction shall read as follows:
(e) RATE FOR UNMETERED WATER.
Where it is presently impractical to install water meters to measure the consumption of water for irrigation purposes by users within or outside the city (the word user not here including the City of Grand Junction), a charge to each user, for the period April through September of each year, shall be made. Such charge shall be determined by multiplying the acreage involved by two (the average acre feet of water used for irrigation purposes) with this total then being multiplied by $95.80. Such computed charge may be paid monthly during the term of use or as a lump sum payment as determined by the water department and the user.
Section 2. That subsection (f) of Section 31-12 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction shall read as follows:
(f) FAMILY UNIT DEFINED.
As used in this chapter, a family unit shall mean a building or part thereof occupied as a permanent abiding place by one or more individuals living and cooking on the premises as a single housekeeping unit.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of October, 1967.
