ORDINANCE NO. 1275

 

AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO DEFRAY THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1968, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1968, AND FIXING THE SALARY OF THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

Section 1. That the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1968, and ending December 31, 1968, said sums to be derived from the various revenue funds as indicated:

 

For Legislative, Legal & Judiciary . . .      $34,097.

Revenue from General Fund:      $34,097.

 

For Management Dept. . . .             27,134.

Revenue from General Fund:       27,134.

 

For Records Dept. . . .             32,664.

Revenue from General Fund:       32,664.

 

For Finance Dept. . . .            101,202.

Revenue from General Fund:      101,202.

 

For Development Dept. . . .             53,250.

Revenue from General Fund:       53,250.

 

For Engineering Dept. . . .             65,042.

Revenue from General Fund:       65,042.

 

For Airport Dept. . . .            153,972.

Revenue from Airport Fund:      153,972.

 

For Public Works Dept. . . .          601,951.

Revenue from General Fund:      601,951.

 

For Utilities Dept. . . .            950,406.

Revenue from Water & Sewer Fund:    759,700.

Revenue from Sanitation Fund:      190,706.

 

For Police Dept. . . .              359,345.

For Parks & Recreation Dept. . . .        388.011.

Revenue from Swimming Pools Fund:     45,585.

Revenue from Cemetery Fund:       38,046.

Revenue from Park Improvement Fund:     17,575.

 

For General Government Dept. . . .        151,133.

Revenue from General Fund:      139,862.

Revenue from Land Fund:         11,271.

 

TOTAL DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET           $3,249,536.

 

TOTAL REVENUE           $3,249,536.

 

The following sums shall be appropriated to the Finance Department, said sum to be derived from charges to various departments using materials stocked in "Stores Inventory" and having printing done by the City printing operation and services rendered by Data Processing.

 

For Stores, Printing, & Data Processing Division in the Finance Dept. . . .                  $157,789.

Revenue from Stores & Printing Fund: $138,354.

Revenue from Data Processing Fund: 19,435.

 

The following sum shall be appropriated to the Equipment Division, said sum to be derived from equipment rentals to be charged the various departments of the City for use of said equipment from the appropriations of their respective departments.

 

For Equipment Division in the Public Works Dept. . . . $255,338.

Revenue from Equipment Fund:    $255,338.

 

Section 2. That the following amounts are hereby levied for collection in the year 1968 and for the specific purpose indicated.

 

For General Fund (based on General Fund Appropriation) Fourteen mills (14.0) . . .              $545,083.

 

Section 3. That commencing January 1, 1968, the salary of the City Manager of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, shall be thirteen thousand, nine hundred twenty dollars per annum.

 

Section 4. it is hereby declared that a special emergency exists and that this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect upon its passage.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1967.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO DEFRAY THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1968, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1968, AND FIXING THE SALARY OF THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY was introduced, read, passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance, numbered 1275 and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 6th day of December, 1967.
