ORDINANCE NO. 1316

 

AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES TO PROVIDE FUNDING OF PAY RAISES FOR CERTAIN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES.

 

WHEREAS, it has become apparent that it is necessary to raise the salaries or wages of certain members of the Police Department to retain the present force at its present level of capability and to enable the hiring of properly qualified replacements when such need arises; and

 

WHEREAS, the problem is an unforeseen contingency which was not apparent at the time of budget preparation and monies must now be provided for such increase in salaries and wages.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That there be transferred from the General Government Operating Capital Fund No. 141.19-011 the sum of $12,368.00 to Police Department Account No. 092.01-000 for expenditure therefrom for salaries and wages in the department as authorized.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1969.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1316, was introduced, read and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 7th day of May, 1969, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City at least ten days before its final passage.
