ORDINANCE NO. 1319

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DRINKING OF FERMENTED MALT BEVERAGE IN PUBLIC AREAS OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION AND CERTAIN PRIVATE AREAS THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That Chapter 19 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended by adding thereto a Section 30, which shall read as follows:

Section 19-30. Drinking of Fermented Malt Beverage Prohibited in Certain Places.

It shall be unlawful to drink fermented malt beverages in the City upon any public street, alley or public way or upon any parking lot or drive in area which is either publicly owned or privately owned and used by the public; the fact that a person is in or upon a motor vehicle at the time of such drinking shall not be a defense in prosecution under this Section.
