ORDINANCE NO. 1429
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER SECTIONS 13-2 AND 13-3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION CONCERNING LICENSES FOR FOOD HANDLING ESTABLISHMENTS AND REENACTING SECTION 13-2 TO PROVIDE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:
1. That Section 2 of Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances be repealed and reenacted as follows:
13.2. COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS.
All food handling establishments and itinerant restaurants within the City of Grand Junction shall have passed inspection by the Mesa County Department of Health and shall hold all permits required by law, the regulations of the State Department of Public Health, and the regulations of the Mesa County Health Department. Should said food handling establishment or itinerant restaurant fail to secure an inspection by the Mesa County Health Department; or fail to secure all permits required by law, by the regulations of the State Department of Public Health, or by the Mesa County Department of Health; or continue to operate in the event any such permit is revoked, suspended, or canceled; or continue to operate in violation of any section of this Chapter; the owner or owners of said food handling establishment, or itinerant restaurant, shall be punished by fine or jailing under the general provisions of this Code.
2. That Section 3 of Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances be repealed.
