ORDINANCE NO. 1490
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of February, 1974, the City Council of the City of Grand Junction considered a petition for the annexation of the following described territory to the City of Grand Junction; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determined that said territory was eligible for annexation and that no election was necessary to determine whether such territory should be annexed as the petition was signed by the owner of one hundred percent of the territory petitioned for annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
1. That the following described property, to wit:
That part of Lots 2 and 7 of Jaynes Subdivision Section 36 Township 1 North Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian, Mesa County, Colorado, lying South and West of Interstate Highway No. 70,
be, and the same is hereby, annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.
2. This Ordinance was necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and shall become effective upon passage for purposes stated.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of February, 1974.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance, entitled AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY was introduced, read, passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance, numbered 1490 and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 20th day of February, 1974.
