ORDINANCE NO. 1579

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MEMBERSHIP ON THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY AND THE QUALIFICATIONS THEREFOR.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That Sections a, b and g of Section 8 of Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as follows:

"a. Members: There is hereby created a Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Grand Junction. The Commission shall consist of seven members who shall be residents of the City. A member of the City Council shall serve ex-officio as a member of the Commission without vote. The City Manager and/or his appointed representative shall serve as advisors to the Commission."

"b. Tenure: Members of the Commission shall serve four years from the date of appointment, except that the terms of two of the appointees first appointed under this Ordinance shall be for two years."

"g. Jurisdiction and Powers: Except as otherwise provided in this Ordinance the Commission shall be governed by the provisions of Article 23, Title 31, Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973. The Commission and other City officials mentioned in said Article shall have all of the powers provided for in said Article and shall exercise all of the functions and be governed by the procedures therein set forth."
