AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That Section 11 of Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended in the following particulars:

1. Streets, Collector shall be amended to read:

"Streets, Collector . . . Existing or proposed streets within the present or future City limits designed and located to collect traffic from residential or business areas and facilitate its connection with principal arterials/major streets and minor arterials/secondary streets. Such streets may or may not be `through streets' and are more fully described as follows:

a) Fourth and Fifth Streets (one way pair) - Ute/Pitkin to North Avenue

b) Fifth Street - North Avenue to Orchard Avenue

c) 27 1/2 Road (19th Street) - Patterson Road to G Road

d) 28 Road - Patterson Road to G Road

e) 28 Road - I-70 Business Loop to Orchard Avenue

f) 28 1/2 Road - Orchard Avenue to I-70 Business Loop

g) 28 3/4 Road - Orchard Avenue to North Avenue

h) 24th Street - Belford Avenue to Grand Avenue

i) 23rd Street - Belford Avenue to North Avenue

j) Belford Avenue - 23rd Street to 28 Road

k) 7th Street - Pitkin Avenue to Struthers Avenue

l) Struthers Avenue - U.S. 50 to 9th Street

m) Gunnison Bridge Road - U.S. 50 to West City Limits

n) Elm Avenue - 7th Street to 29 Road

o) Gunnison Avenue - First Street to 29 Road

p) Rood Avenue - First Street to 7th Street

q) Colorado Avenue - First Street to 7th Street

r) Main Street - 7th Street to I-70 Business Loop

s) Independent Avenue - First Street to U.S. 6 & 50

t) 25 1/2 Road - U.S. 6 & 50 to North City Limits

u) F1/4 Road (Hawthorne Avenue) - 27 Road to 28 road

v) F1/2 Road - 27 Road to East City Limits

w) 15th Street - North Avenue to North City Limits

x) Orchard Avenue - 25 1/2 Road to 26 Road

y) 9th Street - D Road to Struthers Avenue

z) 4th Avenue - U.S. 50 to 9th Street."

2. Streets, Major shall be amended to read:

"Streets, Major/Principal Arterials . . . Existing or proposed streets or highways within the present or future City limits designed and located as arterial streets to carry a large volume of fast moving traffic and which connect Grand Junction with other areas of traffic. Such streets may or may not be designated as interstate, state or county highways but in all cases shall be `through streets' and are more fully described sa follows:

a) First Street - Pitkin Avenue to Horizon Drive

b) Seventh Street - Pitkin Avenue to Horizon Drive

c) Twelfth Street - U.S. 50 to Horizon Drive

d) 29 Road - U.S. 50 to Patterson Road

e) Patterson Road - East City Limits to West City Limits

f) North Avenue - U.S. 6 & 50 to East City Limits

g) Ute/Pitkin - (One way pair) - entire length (Setback on Ute/Pitkin 50' from center line.)

h) B1/2 road - U.S. 50 to East City Limits

i) Horizon Drive - First Street to Walker Field

j) Broadway (Colorado 340) - First Street to West City Limits

k) U.S. 50 - all of U.S. 50 within City Limits

l) I-70 Business Loop (Formerly U.S. 6 & 24) - All of I-70 Business Loop within City Limits

m) D Road - Ninth Street to East City Limits

n) Ninth Street - Ute Avenue to D Road."

3. Streets, Secondary shall be amended to read:

"Streets, Secondary/Minor Arterials . . . Existing or proposed streets within the present or future City limits designed and located as arterial streets to facilitate traffic circulation within the City by providing direct access between residential areas and business centers and principal arterials/major streets and highways. Such streets shall in all cases be `through streets' and are more fully described as follows:

a) First Street - Horizon Drive to North City Limits

b) Seventh Street - Horizon Drive to North City Limits

c) Twelfth Street - Horizon Drive to North City Limits

d) 28 1/4 Road - I-70 Business Loop to Patterson Road

e) Orchard Avenue - 1st Street to East City Limits

f) Grand Avenue - First Street to East City Limits

g) G Road - East City Limits to West City Limits

h) Unaweep Avenue - U.S. 50 to 29 Road

i) River Road Bypass - U.S. 50 to West City Limits.
