ORDINANCE NO. 1663

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF AN AMUSEMENT CENTER AND SETTING STANDARDS FOR THE OPERATION THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended by the addition thereto of a Section 3 which shall read as follows:

Section 5-3. Licensing of amusement centers and setting standards for the operation thereof. (a) Any person, firms or corporation operating an amusement center, other than a school, college or university or a licensee under the Fermented Malt Beverage or Intoxicating Liquor Code, wherein persons between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five are the primary customers and within which billiard or pool tables and/or coin operated skill devices are used by the customers shall, in addition to any other license required, be required to secure a license for such center.

(B) Applications for such license shall be on forms obtained from the City Clerk, shall cost Five ($5.00) Dollars, shall be valid for one year from the date of issue, unless sooner revoked, and shall not be assignable.

(C) The failure to comply with the Statutes of the State of Colorado, the Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Health Department regulations and with Building Code and Fire Code requirements and to operate the establishment in a decent, orderly and respectable manner controlling profanity, rowdiness, undue noise or other disturbance or activity offensive to the senses of the average citizen, or the residents of the neighborhood in which the establishment is located and the failure to report such incidents to the police department shall all be grounds for suspension or revocation of the license, after hearing thereon.
