ORDINANCE NO. 1763

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION IN REGARD TO FIRE ZONES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That Paragraph b of Section 6, Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as follows:

"b. Fire Zones: For the purpose of this Ordinance the entire City is hereby declared to be and is hereby established a fire district, and said fire district shall be known and designated as Fire Zones 1, 2 and 3 as set forth in Chapter 16 `Restrictions in Fire Zones' of the Part IV titled `Requirements Based on Location in Fire Zones' of the Uniform Building Code as adopted by the City of Grand Junction.

All areas within the City are hereby placed into fire zones as follows:

1) Fire Zone One shall be contained with a geographical area bounded by the following described perimeter:

Beginning at the Northwest Corner of Lot 7, Block 2 of Wilson's Subdivision of Mobley's Subdivision, then South to a point on the Northerly right of way line of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, then Southeasterly along said right of way to the point of intersection with the Westerly extension of the centerline of the alley between Ute and Pitkin Avenues, then East along said centerline to a point 100 feet East of the East right of way line of 8th Street, then North to the centerline of the alley between Grand and White Avenues, then West to the point of beginning,

2) Fire Zone Two shall consist of all areas zoned B-1, B-2, B-3, C-1, C-2 and I-1 (except within that area designated as Fire Zone One).

3) Fire Zone Three shall consist of all areas not designated as Fire Zone One or Two."
