ORDINANCE NO. 1794

AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE BUILDING CODE FEES, THE PLUMBING CODE FEES, THE MECHANICAL CODE FEES, AND ELECTRICAL FEES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

1. That Table No. 3-A of the Uniform Building Code, 1976 Edition, be amended to read as follows:

Total ValuationFee
$1.00 to $500.00$1.00 per $100.00 or fraction thereof.
$501.00 to $2,000.00$5.00 for the first $500.00 plus $.75 for each additional $100.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.00.
$2,001.00 to $25,000.00$16.25 for the first $2,000.00 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $25,000.00.
$25,001.00 to $50,000.00$85.25 for the first $25,000.00 plus $2.25 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00.

2. That "Schedule of Fees", a part of Section 20.7 of the Uniform Plumbing Code of 1976 Edition be amended to read as follows:

For issuing each permit . . . $2.00

In Addition

For each plumbing fixture or trap or set of fixtures on one trap (including water, drainage piping and backflow protection therefore) . . . 1.25

For each building sewer and each trailer park sewer . . . 5.00

Rainwater systems-per drain (inside building) . . . 1.25

For each industrial waste pre-treatment interceptor, including its trap and vent, excepting kitchen type grease interceptors functioning as fixture traps . . . 1.25

For installation, alteration or repair of water piping and/or water treatment equipment . . . 1.25

For repair or alteration of drainage or vent piping . . . 1.25

For each lawn sprinkler system on any one meter, including backflow protection devices thereof . . . 3.00

3. That Section 304 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition, be amended to read as follows:

Sec. 304. Any person desiring a permit required by this Code, shall at the time of filing an application therefor, pay a fee as required by this Section.

1. For the issuance of each permit . . . $2.00

2. For the installation of each F.A. or gravity-type furnace up to and incl. 100,000 Btu/h . . . 2.50

3. For the installation of each F.A. or gravity-type furnace over 100,000 Btu/h . . . 3.00

4. For the installation of each floor furnace, including vent . . . 2.50

5. For the installation of each suspended heater, recessed wall heater or floor mounted unit heater . . . 2.50

6. For each water heater and/or vent . . . 1.25

7. For each gas piping system of one (1) to four (4) outlets . . . 1.25

8. For each gas piping system of five (5) or more, per outlet . . . .50

9. For the installation of each appliance vent installed and not included in an appliance permit . . . 1.25

10. For the repair, alteration, or addition to each heating appliance, refrigeration, cooling, absorption, unit, or each heating, cooling, absorption, or evaporative cooling system . . . 2.50

11. For the installation of each boiler or compressor to and including three H.P., or each absorption system to and incl. 100,000 Btu/h . . . 2.50

12. For the installation of each boiler or compressor over three H.P. to and including 15 H.P., or each absorption system over 100,000 Btu/h and incl. 500,000 Btu/h . . . 4.75

13. For the installation of each boiler or compressor over 15 H.P. to and incl. 30 H.P., or for each absorption system over 1,000,00 Btu/h to and incl. 1,000,000 Btu/h . . . 6.25

14. For the installation or relocation of each boiler or compressor over 30 H.P. to and incl. 50 H.P. or for each absorption system over 1,000,000 Btu/h to and incl. 1,750,000 Btu/h . . . 9.50

15. For the installation of each boiler or refrigeration compressor over 50 H.P., or each absorption system over 1,750,000 Btu/h . . . 15.00

16. For each air handling unit to and incl. 10,000 C.F.M. . . . 2.00

NOTE: This fee shall not apply to an air handling unit which is a portion of a factory assembled appliance, cooling unit, evaporative cooler or absorption unit for which a permit is required elsewhere in this Code.

17. For each air handling unit over 10,000 C.F.M. . . . 3.00

18. For each evaporative cooler other than portable type . . . 2.00

19. For each ventilation fan connected to a single duct . . . 1.25

20. For each ventilation system which is not a portion of any heating or system authorized by a permit . . . 2.00

21. For the installation of each hood which is served by mechanical exhaust, incl. the ducts for such hood . . . 2.00

22. For each piece of equipment regulated by this Code but not classed in other appliance categories, or for which no other fee is listed in this Code . . . 2.00

23. Reinspection Fee . . . 10.00

4. That Section 11-12 (b) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as follows:

(b) The following schedule of permit fees is hereby provided for all electrical work in the city:

Inspection fee shall be as follows:

Residential: (This includes modular homes, mobile homes and travel trailers, also duplexes and condominiums), construction and extensive remodeling and additions to (based on enclosed living area)

Not more than 1,000 sq. ft. . . . $10.00

Over 1,000 sq. ft. and not more than 1,500 sq. ft. . . . 14.00

Over 1,500 sq. ft. and not more than 2,000 sq. ft. . . . 17.50

Per 100 sq. ft. in excess of 2,000 sq. ft. . . . .50

Reinspection Fees . . . 10.00

This permit entitles you to a rough and final inspection only. A reinspection fee will be charged for any additional inspections requested or required.

ALL OTHER FEES, except for inspections in mobile homes and travel trailer parks, shall be computed on the dollar value of the electrical installation, including fixtures and installation costs thereof, and such fees shall be as follows:

Valuation of work

Not more than $300 . . . $6.25

More than $300 but not more than $2,000 . . . 10.00

More than $2,000 but not more than $50,000 . . . 4.00 per each $1,000 value or fraction thereof

More than $50,000 but not more than $500,000 . . . 50.00 plus 3.00 per each $1,000 or fraction there

More than $500,000 . . . 550.00 plus 2.00 per each $1,000 or fraction thereof

Mobile homes and travel trailer parks, per space . . . 7.00
