ORDINANCE NO 1866

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO.

WHEREAS, on the 16th day of January, 1980, the City Council of the City of Grand Junction considered a petition for the annexation of the following described territory to the City of Grand Junction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council determined that said territory was eligible for annexation and that no election was necessary to determine whether such territory should be annexed as the petition was signed by the owner of one hundred percent of the territory petitioned for annexation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the property situate in Mesa County, Colorado, and described to wit:

Beginning at the NE corner of the SE Quarter of the NW Quarter of Section 36, T1N, R1W of the Ute Meridian, thence S 516 feet, thence S 66 deg. 44 min. West 251.2 feet, thence S 81 deg. 64 min. W 70 feet, thence S 86 deg. 14 min. W 200 feet, thence S 66 feet, thence N 55 deg. 54 min. W 71 feet, thence N 89 deg. 37 min. W 350 feet, thence S 8540 feet W 250 feet to the W line of the E 7/8 of said SE Quarter of the NW Quarter, thence N to the N line of said SE Quarter of the NW Quarter, thence E to the point of beginning; EXCEPT tract conveyed to Colorado State Highway Department as described in document recorded in Book 844 at page 29;

and

Beginning at a point 804 feet N of the SE Corner of the SE Quarter of the NW Quarter of Section 36, T1N, R1W of the Ute Meridian, thence S 66 deg. 44 min. W 251.2 feet more or less to the N right of way of Interstate 70, thence Southeasterly along said right of way to the E line of the SE Quarter of the NW Quarter of said Section 36, thence N to the point of beginning;

and

That part of the N25 acres of the W 45 acres of the S Half of the NW Quarter of Section 36, T1N, R1W of the Ute Meridian lying N of the N right of way for I-70 as set forth in Deed recorded May 13, 1964, in Book 869 at Page 328;

be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of February, 1980.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1866, was introduced, read, and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 16th day of January, 1980, and that the same was published in the Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City, at least ten days before its final passage.
