ORDINANCE NO. 1885

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO.

WHEREAS, on the 16th day of April, 1980, the City Council of the City of Grand Junction considered a petition for the annexation of the following described territory to the City of Grand Junction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council determined that said territory was eligible for annexation and that no election was necessary to determine whether such territory should be annexed as the petition was signed by the owner of one hundred percent of the territory petitioned for annexation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

That the property situate in Mesa County, Colorado, and described to wit:

All that portion of the SE Quarter of the SW Quarter of Section 10, T1S, R1W of the Ute Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the S Quarter Corner of said Section 10; thence along the N-S centerline of said Section 10, N 0 deg. 24 min. 54 sec. E 766.20 feet to the NE Corner of said second tract of land conveyed to the State HIghway Department by deed recorded in Book 508 at Page 41, being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence along the Northerly line of said Highway Department tract, N 61 deg. 22 min. W 760.12 feet to the most Easterly Corner of that tract of land conveyed to The Department of Highways, State of Colorado, by deed recorded in Book 775, at Page 431; thence along the boundary lines of said Department of Highway's tract for the following 2 courses: (1) N 47 deg. 52 min. 30 sec. W 154.30 feet; (2) N 28 deg. 38 min. E 49.85 feet, to the Southerly line of that tract of land conveyed to County of Mesa, State of Colorado by deed recorded in Book 706, at Page 537; thence along said Southerly line S 89 deg. 39 min. 06 sec. E 761.40 feet, to the N-S centerline of the aforesaid Section 10; thence along the centerline, S 0 deg. 24 min. 54 sec. W 506.89 feet, to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING together with Right of Way for Independent Avenue on the N;

be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1980.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1885, was introduced, read, and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 16th day of April, 1980, and that the same was published in the Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City, at least ten days before its final passage.
