ORDINANCE NO. 1988

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO.

WHEREAS, on the 5th day of August, 1981, the City Council of the City of Grand Junction considered a petition for the annexation of the following described territory to the City of Grand Junction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council determined that said territory was eligible for annexation and that no election was necessary to determine whether such territory should be annexed as the petition was signed by the owner of one hundred percent of the territory petitioned for annexation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO,

That the property situate in Mesa County, Colorado, and described as:

Beginning at a point 30 feet South of the Northeast Corner of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 1 East of the Ute Meridian, thence West 165 feet; thence South 00 deg. 02 min. East 470.0 feet; thence South 32 deg. 23 min. West 806.0 feet; thence West 63 feet; thence South 139.05 feet to the South line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 7, thence West 196 feet along said South line; thence South 42 deg. 40 min. West 543.0 feet; thence North 72 deg. 32 min. West 100 feet; thence South 44.7 feet to the center line of the Grand Valley Canal; thence along said canal South 72 deg. 30 min. East 500 feet; thence South 79 deg. 20 min. East 150 feet; thence South 87 deg. 15 min. East 165 feet; thence East 260.0 feet; thence leaving the centerline of said canal; thence North 431 feet; thence 270.0 feet to the East line of said Section 7, thence North along said East line of said Section 7, North 1015.7 feet; thence West 58 feet; thence North 05 deg. 42 min. East 50.1 feet; thence East 53 feet; thence North 254.0 feet to the Point of Beginning, EXCEPT Beginning South 508.0 feet and North 89 deg. 59 min. West, 30.0 feet from the Northeast corner of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 1 East, Ute Meridian; thence South 120 feet; thence North 89 deg. 59 min. West 92 feet; thence North 120 feet; thence South 89 deg. 59 min. East 92 feet to the Point of Beginning, AND EXCEPT Beginning at a point that is 81 feet South and 30 feet West of the Northeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 1 East of the Ute Meridian; thence South 88.00 feet, thence West 136.50 feet, thence North 88.00 feet, thence East 136.50 feet to the Point of Beginning.

AND INCLUDING the South Half of F Road on the North and the West half of 29 Road on the East,

be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 1988, was introduced, read, and ordered published by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of said body held on the 5th day of August, 1981, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper published and in general circulation in said City, at least ten days before its final passage.
