ORDINANCE NO. 2095

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT CODE TO DEFINE "BOARDING HOUSE" AND PERMIT IT AS A SPECIAL USE IN A B-3 ZONE.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That the following sections of Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction (the Zoning and Development Code) be amended to read as follows:

 

1. The definition of Boarding and Rooming House in Chapter 13 is amended to read:

 

BOARDING AND ROOMING HOUSE

 

A building containing a single dwelling unit and three or more rental rooms where lodging is provided, with or without meals, for compensation. "Compensation" may include money, services or other things of value. THIS USE MAY ALSO PROVIDE ROOM, BOARD AND PERSONAL CARE FACILITIES FOR THE ELDERLY. THESE FACILITIES MUST MEET SAFETY STANDARDS AS SET FORTH BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND CITY BUILDING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT.

 

2. That figure 4-3-4 (Use/Zone Matrix) of Chapter 4 be amended by adding Boarding and Rooming Houses as a special use in the B-3 zone.
