ORDINANCE NO. 2106

 

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE AND LICENSE FEE FOR COIN-OPERATED SKILL OR AMUSEMENT DEVICES

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That subsections (a), (b) and (c) of Section 5-2 of Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction are amended to read as follows:

 

"(a) Defined. A coin-operated skill device is hereby defined as a device or machine which, upon the insertion of a coin or slug, operates or may be operated as a game, contest or an amusement of any description or which may be used for any such game, contest or amusement and which contains no automatic pay-off device for the return of slugs, money, coins, checks, tokens or merchandise and which provides for no such pay-off by any other means or manner."

 

"(b) Type of devices; license required. It shall be unlawful to operate within the city any coin-operated skill device not conforming to the definitions thereof as set forth in this section, and without first having obtained a license therefor in accordance with the provisions of this section."

 

"(c) License fee, scope. The annual license fee for each coin-operated skill device shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00); provided, however, that the original license fee shall be twelve dollars and one-half ($12.50) if the device is licensed after July 1st of the year. Such license shall be issued pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 7, Article 1, of this Code and shall not be transferable as to ownership. The city clerk may issue a master license covering more than one machine with identifying marker indicating the licensing of a machine under a master license."
