ORDINANCE NO. 2329

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SENIOR CITIZEN RATE FOR TRASH REMOVAL AND WATER SERVICE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That the following sections of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be added to the Code:

1. That Section 14-12(a)(1) of Chapter 14 be amended by the addition of a subsection (c), reading as follows:

"(c) Senior citizen rate: A person who is 75 years of age or older and head of a household may certify as to such facts on forms to be supplied by the Finance Department of the City to receive a reduction of $2.00 per month from the basic minimum rate applicable to such person for residential trash and garbage removal."

2. That section 31-12 of Chapter 31 be amended by the addition of a subsection (f), reading as follows:

"(f) Senior citizen rate: A person who is 75 years of age or older and head of a household may certify as to such facts on forms to be supplied by the Finance Department of the City to receive a reduction of $1.00 per month from the minimum charge applicable to such person as a residential water user."
