ORDINANCE NO. 2397

 

AMENDING THE ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION BY ADDING A DEFINITION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT REHABILITATION CENTER

 

WHEREAS, the Zoning and Development Code of the City of Grand Junction does not contain a definition for a Law Enforcement Rehabilitation Center; and

 

WHEREAS, the term Law Enforcement Rehabilitation Center is used in the Use Zone Matrix Section 4-3-4, and therefore a definition of said term is required;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That Chapter 13 of the Zoning and Development Code is hereby amended by adding the definition of Law Enforcement Rehabilitation Center to read as follows:

 

"A facility operated under the direction of a law enforcement agency, whose primary purpose is the rehabilitation of adults (18 years of age or older) convicted of criminal offenses(s). A center may include living quarters, in-house counselling services and education facilities. Residents of such a center may not necessarily be kept confined, but shall be under twenty-four hour supervision."
