ORDINANCE NO. 2431

 

AMENDING SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE CITY CODE TO DEFINE MOBILE HOMES AND TRAVEL TRAILERS AS RESIDENCES FOR TRASH PICKUP PURPOSES AND PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL PICKUP CHARGES

 

WHEREAS, at present the City Code does not sufficiently define whether or not mobile homes, recreational vehicles and travel trailers, which are used for living quarters, are to be charged as a residence; and

 

WHEREAS, the rates for special pickup should be specifically set forth in an ordinance;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

1. Section 14-12(A)(1)(a) is hereby amended by:

 

Adding a sentence at the end of such subsection which shall read as follows: "Residential rates shall apply to mobile homes, travel trailers, and equivalent structures or vehicles which are used as a residence.

 

2. Section 14-12(A)(1)(d) is amended by:

 

The addition of an additional category following the existing category "Each collection twice to six (6) . . . " which new category shall be entitled "Special pickups" and hereby imposes the following charges based on tank size in cubic yards: "one yard: $3.53; two yards: $7.08; three yards: $9.25; four yards: $11.46; six yards: $15.50; eight yards: $19.50; ten yards: $22.93."
