ORDINANCE NO. 2437

 

AN ORDINANCE WHICH ALLOWS THE LOCAL LICENSING AUTHORITY TO GRANT, UNDER CERTAIN PROVISIONS, TEMPORARY LICENSES TO RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSEES WHO, THROUGH NEGLIGENCE OR INADVERTENCE, HAVE ALLOWED THEIR LIQUOR LICENSES TO EXPIRE WITHOUT RENEWING THEM.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That Chapter 4, Article 1, Section 1, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended by the addition of paragraph f. to read as follows:

 

f. The Local Licensing Authority may grant temporary licenses to retail liquor licensees who, through negligence or inadvertence, have allowed their retail liquor licenses to expire without renewing them, provided;

 

(1) The licensee submits an application for a brand new license (including the appropriate local and state fees); and

 

(2) The licensee submits a new license application within 90 days of the date his old license expired; and

 

(3) The licensee files with the city clerk $250 in payment for the temporary license; and

 

(4) The temporary license is good until the applicant's new permanent license is issued or denied, or it has been more than four (4) months since the temporary license was issued. Temporary licenses can not be renewed.

 

(5) Temporary licenses are subject to the same provisions for suspension of revocation as other licenses granted pursuant to the Colorado Liquor Code.
