ORDINANCE NO. 2513

AMENDING THE PREAMBLE TO AND SECTIONS 31-68 AND 31-94(2)a) AND b) OF ORDINANCE 2497 OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That the preamble to and Sections 31-68 and 31-94(2) of Ordinance 2497 of the City of Grand Junction be amended, by changing the reference in the preamble to Chapter 31 where erroneously published as Chapter 3, by creating subparagraph (c) of section 31-68 and by replacing paragraphs a) and b) of paragraph (2) of section 31-94, all to read as follows:

Preamble in relevant part:

. . . AMENDING CHAPTER 31 OF THE GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION BY THE ADDITION OF ARTICLE 3.

Paragraph 1-68(c):

(c) The requirement for a "performance/warranty guarantee" may be waived by the City Engineer if, in his opinion, the cost of restoration on any single project is less than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) and the work is being performed by a contractor licensed by the City to perform work within the City. The waiver shall be made only on the requirement for a "performance/warranty guarantee" and does not relieve the contractor of any other requirement(s) stated in section 31-67 or other applicable sections of this ordinance.

Paragraph 31-94(2):

a) In areas zoned exclusively for one and two family residences, one fire hydrant shall be located in the public right-of-way at each intersection of any street or road, public or private, with the requirement that additional hydrants be installed and accessible from the right-of-way, so that there is not more than 500 feet between adjacent hydrants. The exact location of hydrants shall be designated by the Fire Chief, or his designee.

b) In all multi-family zones or locations including more than two residential uses per structure and all other zones, fire hydrants shall be located at each intersection of any street or road, public or private. Additional hydrants shall be installed in the right-of-way, so that the distance between adjacent hydrants is not more than 300 feet. The exact location of and access to all such hydrants shall be designated by the Fire Chief, or his designee.
